The season of Advent is just around the corner—a time of waiting, hope, and preparation. Every year, I find myself longing for a way to slow down and truly experience the wonder of Christmas, not just the busyness that so easily takes over. This year, I wanted something simple yet deeply meaningful—a way to immerse myself in the heart of the Christmas story.

As I began to pray and reflect, I realized how often we stop at the manger. We celebrate the miracle of Jesus’ birth, and rightly so—it’s breathtaking! But the story doesn’t end there. The beauty of Christmas is that it points us forward to the cross, to the fullness of God’s redemptive plan. There is so much more to the story of Jesus than the nativity scene we hold so dear.

That’s how From the Cradle to the Cross was born. This Advent devotional invites you to journey through all 24 chapters of the Gospel of Luke—one chapter each day from December 1st through Christmas Eve. Luke’s Gospel offers a rich and detailed account of Jesus’ life, from His humble beginnings to His ultimate act of love and sacrifice.

Each day’s reading includes a focus verse, a short reflection to help you pause and ponder, and a space for you to write your own thoughts using the SOAP method (Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer). My hope is that this devotional will not only deepen your understanding of Scripture but also draw you closer to Jesus as you prepare your heart for Christmas.
