Life can take us into places we never expected—grief, anxiety, trauma, difficult transitions, or seasons when simply holding everything together feels overwhelming. I believe healing can begin when we gently shine light into the darker spaces of our lives. We don’t have to hide the difficult parts or face them alone.
I am a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology student counsellor, currently completing my clinical practicum in Grande Prairie, Alberta at Botten Psychological Services. My approach is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life.
Before entering the counselling field, I spent more than 10 years as a teacher, an experience that continues to shape the way I work with people. Teaching taught me the importance of building trusting relationships, listening carefully, recognizing individual needs, creating safe and supportive environments, and meeting people where they are. These skills naturally carry into counselling, where connection, curiosity, patience, and a genuine desire to understand each person’s unique story are at the heart of the therapeutic relationship.
My therapeutic interests include Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I can support clients with coping skills, stressful life situations, grief and loss, anxiety, emotional regulation, and healthy lifestyle changes, to name a few.
Grief & Loss
I have a special interest in supporting individuals navigating grief and loss. Whether through the death of a loved one, loss of a relationship, illness, or a significant life transition, grief can touch every part of our lives. Together, we can create space to honour your story, process your experience, and find a path toward healing and hope.
Agriculture Informed Therapy™
I also have a special interest in Agriculture Informed Therapy™, supporting individuals and families navigating the unique pressures and realities of agricultural and rural life.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes the first step toward healing is simply having a safe place to be honest about what you’re carrying.
There is hope, even in the dark. And sometimes, healing begins when we find the courage to shine a little light there.
