S – So I thought I would tell you of it and say, ‘Buy it in the presence of those sitting here and in the presence of the elders of my people.’ If you will redeem it, redeem it. But if you will not, tell me, that I may know, for there is no one besides you to redeem it, and I come after you.” And he said, “I will redeem it.” Then Boaz said, “The day you buy the field from the hand of Naomi, you also acquire Ruth the Moabite, the widow of the dead, in order to perpetuate the name of the dead in his inheritance.” Then the redeemer said, “I cannot redeem it for myself, lest I impair my own inheritance. Take my right of redemption yourself, for I cannot redeem it.” Ruth 4:4-6O – The first family redeemer WAS interested in the land, but when Ruth was mentioned as part of the legal deal, he was not interested. At first it felt like he was going to go for it, but then he changes his mind. It feels like this was all a part of God’s hand. That God’s plan was behind this all. Oh the faith that Boaz must have had to go through this all legally, with the chance of losing Ruth in it all. But he had faith and he waited. God was faithful and His hand was behind it the whole time.A – Sometimes it feels as though there are obstacles in our way and it would be easy to orchestrate things in such a way that would be to what we think would be our own benefit. Boaz had this opportunity, but He allowed God to do His work. What faith it takes to wait on God’s perfect timing and see the blessings He has in store for us. Blessings far beyond our imagination.P – Lord, I thank you for your timing. I thank you that you orchestrate events in our lives for our benefit. Sometimes it seems like it would be easier for us to go around and make it all work out for our own benefit, but Your plan is always so much better. Your blessings are always so much beyond our imaginations. You know the big picture. Help each of us to walk in faith today, with the knowledge that You have things under control. Show us when it is that You want us to go forward in decisions. May they be ordained by You. ~Amen
