Message of Hope: God designed family to help each other.

Today’s story is about a very strange way of providing security – at least it is strange to our modern ears. But non-the-less it worked very well. So let’s have a look and read today’s story.

S – Ruth 3:1-18O – Ruth and Naomi returned to Bethlehem expecting to make the best of life, finding ways to survive as best they could. They are surprised to find that they are met with grace through Boaz. In those days it was parents who arranged marriages, so it is not surprising that Naomi makes plans for Ruth to marry Boaz. This marriage would ensure that they are both taken care of for the rest of their lives.I love how Ruth prepares to meet Boaz. I have often taken the story of Ruth at face value – a love story between and man and a woman, but now I am seeing a few things I haven’t before. The steps that Ruth takes in the development of this relationship are an example to me of how I must build a deeper relationship with God. To merely be satisfied with existing, isn’t enough. We can have it all if we seek Him.A – I love the examples given here (http://www.brandonweb.com/sermons/sermonpages/ruth5.htm) that show how the steps that Ruth takes in the development of her relationship with Boaz, are an example of how I can build a deeper relationship with God.P- Father God, thank you for using the story of Ruth to remind me of the relationship between me and you. Thank you for your grace and love even, and especially when I fail. Lord, you are always there. Thank you for the example of Ruth in encouraging me in my relationship growth with you. Help me to remember this important lesson, not only when life is great, but especially in those times when things are more difficult. Thank you for the security we each have in and through you.
